As the 2019 Lok Sabha elections<\/a> are drawing closer, political parties are leaving no stone unturned to\nwoo voters. The humongous voter base in our country will play a crucial role in\ndeciding their fate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Campaigning is also on in full swing as leaders from national and\nregional parties are reaching out to the masses. The shops too are filled with\nloads of promotional materials to attract locals as they prep themselves to\ncast their vote for the world\u2019s largest democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From rallies to road shows, car stickers, paper cups<\/strong> and wall posters, political parties seem to be making\nthe most of these materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Recently, passengers traveling on the Kathgodam Shatabdi Express\nnoticed that tea was being served in paper\ncups<\/strong> with PM Modi’s campaign line, “Main\nBhi Chowkidar\u201d<\/em> (I’m also watchman), printed on them. Pictures of the tea cup<\/strong> went viral on social media and\nmultiple tweets started pouring in saying it is a violation of the Election\nCode of Conduct. The advertisement on the paper\ncup <\/strong>was of an NGO called Sankalp\nFoundation<\/a>. The Indian Railways<\/a> were forced to withdraw the paper cups<\/strong> and imposed a fine on the contractor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n A similar incident occurred on the New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Express\nwhen tea was served in paper cups<\/strong> that\nhad Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/a> and BJP chief Amit Shah’s photos on them.<\/p>\n\n\n
